AKANE
Don't let looks deceive you! As young as she may look, Akane is Retsu's grandmother and mentor, training him to have a better hold on his fire-wielding abilities. Though she's a lot calmer than him, she still has that never-give-up attitude; perhaps he even got it from her. It's not an uncommon sight to see Akane drinking sake from a gourd, either. She really likes the stuff.
In this game, she wields the red tear lapis.

IN THE STORY
Akane is the first person encountered by Retsu and Fuga in Lapistoria, telling the two of the pollution crisis and teaching them how to purify lapises. She makes minor appearances throughout the rest of the story, but that's about it.
In a side story, it's revealed that she and Minit's became friends! Probably to be expected, though, Minit's doesn't quite grasp that she's a grandmother and thinks Retsu is insulting her.

TRIVIA
- Akane's birthday is on January 5th.
- The red tear lapis is shared with Yuli.
- In her 2P palette, Akane wields the blue tear lapis.
- Retsu appears in her Win animation, and Minit's appears in her FEVER Win animation if she's unlocked. If she's not unlocked, only the Win animation will play regardless of if your Groove Gauge is full or not.
- Playing as or against Akane will yield teardrop effects in the background.
- Not counting Lapis Origin (because I honestly have no idea how big that thing is meant to be) or crossover portraits not in the same artstyle, Akane has the shortest portrait in all of Lapistoria. I verified this. Even Minit's is a little taller than her.
- "Akane" is the Japanese word for the madder plant, the most common of which (R. tinctorum) is used to make brilliant red-orange dyes.
WEBMASTER'S COMMENTS
Akane's songs (both Red/Blue Rampage and Cradle of the Black Spiral in Kaimei) really made me appreciate NU-KO's range... she sings a lot in her higher pitch for Pop'n, but MAN when she sings low it's so cool. She's so cool
