ALBIREO
Head waiter of a restaurant hidden in the woods on moonless nights, it seems that Albireo has come today searching for ingredients. He's a well-mannered and patient fellow, easy to get along with, but also prides himself on his service.
In this game, he wields the yellow diamond lapis.
時空学者とブルーメン by m@sumi is his song.
IN THE STORY
Albireo encounters Fuga near the start of Lapistoria, noticing that something was troubling him; he gives him the confidence to attempt purification, and from then on they become good friends. He shows up later when Taiga is searching for Rinka, asking some cats on his behalf if they had seen her.
...he also gets haggled by Lazuli as she tries to sell her urn to him in her side story, so there's that.

TRIVIA
- Albireo's birthday is on August 27th.
- The yellow diamond lapis is shared with Taiga, Ranma and Eito.
- In his 2P palette, Albireo wields the blue diamond lapis.
- Mimi and Nyami appear in his Win animation, Fuga appears in his FEVER Win animation, and the other Tsugidoka members appear in his Lose animation.
- Speaking of his Lose animation, Albireo shows up as a normal cat (as in not bipedal) at the start. I don't know what this implies, but it sure does imply something. Have fun figuring it out!
- Playing as or against Albireo will yield diamond effects in the background.
- "Albireo" is the name of a double star in the Cygnus constellation, also designated Beta Cygni. It is the swan's head, comprised of a bright yellow star next to a fainter blue star (which may correspond to his lapis colors).
- He himself is a walking reference to Night on the Galactic Railroad by Kenji Miyazawa; the star that he gets his name from is described in the novel, his appearance in 13 Carnival is internally registered as Kenji, he shares his birthday with the author, and his home of Ihatov is a fictional land in many of Miyazawa's novels (apparently his way of rendering his home, Iwate Prefecture, in Esperanto). Heck, he may even be a cat because the 1985 movie adaptation of the novel depicts the characters as cats. That'd be something, huh?
WEBMASTER'S COMMENTS
I think ol' Alby was my first real venture into the wonders of Lapistoria. It's because of his song. I love m@sumi's music...
