GERHARD
Straight from the depths of Hell comes the demon kid Gerhard! Hide your sweets! This mischevious fellow often sneaks away to human realms to pull pranks and indulge in confections, savoring the feeling of being free. And he does his best to put up a cool front to others- whether that works or not is up to your interpretation.
In this game, he wields the red diamond lapis.

IN THE STORY
While he does cameo in the main story to give Rinka and Hiumi a lead on whoever's behind the second wave of lapis corruptions, Gerhard is mostly limited to sidestories. From appearing in Milk's story for a dentist appointment to telling Minit's that Santa isn't real (only to be proven wrong because Fuga showed up in a Santa costume), to even motivating Takuto to play piano again in a card story! He's just a guy.

- Gerhard's birthday is on June 6th, a not-at-all subtle reference to the number of the beast (666).
- The red diamond lapis is shared with Michiru.
- In his 2P palette, Gerhard wields the green diamond lapis.
- Non-Lapistoria character Wilhelm appears in his Lose animation; he's effectively Gerhard's boss and drags him back to Hell for weekend worship. I don't know what demons worship, don't ask me. I'm just saying what I know.
- Playing as or against Gerhard will yield star effects in the background.
- His character comments state that he's a low-ranking demon in Hell (which tracks, since he's a literal child), so adults or higher-ranking demons often call him "Gary" instead (ゼル/Zeru, shortened from ゼルハルト/Zeruharuto). This comes up in éclale's Star Maker mode, where Wilhelm uses this nickname while searching for him and Jack (another subordinate(?) of his).
- He is designed by Sound Voltex designer PENU, sharing this distinction with Taiga and Yuzuru. However, since he's available by default, he's technically their first design for Pop'n.
