NICOLAS
A kindly and frail young boy, Nicolas is the school's resident botanist. His grandmother's folk remedies and medicines inspired him to pursue the craft himself, making full use of the herbs he gathers and studies throughout Lapistoria. Some of them seem a bit... dubious... in nature, but rest assured that he means well!
In this game, he wields the yellow tear lapis.
風のささやき by Hikaru is his song.
IN THE STORY
Nicolas first appears in the main story enocuntered by Retsu as he's gathering herbs for an experiment, which the fire-wielder enthusiastically comes to watch. Said experiment is a bust, being an attempt to purify his lapis himself, but Retsu does it on his behalf. ...which makes Nico want to uncover the mystery of purification with quite a bit of zeal.
[I know he appears in side stories and gets wrapped up with Root's donut experiments but the details will have to wait.]

- Nicolas' birthday is on September 18th. He shares this with Takuto.
- In his 2P palette, Nicolas wields the green tear lapis.
- Mimi and Nyami appear in his FEVER animation (alongside non-Lapistoria characters Silvia and Robin & Cock), and Root appears in his FEVER Win animation. Oddly, she appears even if her Lapistoria portrait isn't unlocked.
To be expected, that caught me by surprise when I was unlocking Harpya... - Playing as or against Nicolas will yield flower effects in the background. He's the only new character in Lapistoria to have this effect; some characters from previous games, such as Yima and Fili, have it.
WEBMASTER'S COMMENTS
Ameteur ornithology is an interest of mine, and it made me try to look into what kind of bird he has with him. I think it's a European robin! I'd say it's an eastern bluebird, which matches the vibrant colors a bit more, but Nicolas is, canonically, British. Yes, canonically, it's on his cards that he's from the UK. So European robin probably makes more sense. They're so cute...
And then in his 2P, the bird is colored like an American robin. Despite their names, these robins are in no way related to each other. One is a passerine and the other is a thrush. I WILL keep talking about birds if no one stops me.
