THE POP'N MUSIC FANDOM WIKI IS NOT A RELIABLE SOURCE OF LORE INFORMATION
There are a lot of misconceptions around all of Pop'n Music. I need to debunk them or I'll fly into a violent rage.
Before anyone asks, these ARE all misconceptions I've seen at some point or another. A few of them were on the Fandom wiki. I'll denote which ones these are.
Lapistoria and adjacent first because they're the big ones on my mind.
"Mimi and Nyami are related"
LOUD INCORRECT BUZZER
They are counterparts and different species. They met each other at an auditon and have been best friends since. Per Murakumo, they may have even known each other in a past life, but they are not related by blood.
"Rinka and Taiga's parents are dead"
LOUD INCORRECT BUZZER
Their parents are never mentioned anywhere, so this is a headcanon at best. This misinfo was on the Fandom wiki prior to 5/24/24.
"Hiumi was forced to be isolated because her magic accidentally killed people"
LOUD INCORRECT BUZZER
Also a headcanon at best. IMO it's not very consistent with her character- the Fandom wiki (where this misinfo was before 5/24/24) called her a hikikomori because of that supposed incident, but she isn't really that withdrawn. Fuga is more withdrawn than her. Also no mention of her meeting MZD, Mimi or Nyami before the events of Lapistoria (or potentially even Sunny Park).
"Jade is the true antagonist of Lapistoria"
LOUD INCORRECT BUZZER
This misconception was more common before this site reached the second half of the main story, given that translations of Lapistoria weren't widely available otherwise and (quite frankly) not many people cared enough to debunk this. Jade is a victim of circumstance. He was possessed by Lapis Origin for most of the time he shows up. Read this from What God Had Lost...

"Nia and Toa were separated in childhood because their parents were divorced"
EXTREMELY LOUD INCORRECT BUZZER
Oh, this one gets my blood BOILING. This one I saw on their Fandom wiki pages and IT WAS UP FOR SO GODDAMN LONG. Chihi states in Toa's character comments that they've been together since birth. Anelis PV shows them growing up together. NOTHING ABOUT EITHER OF THEIR BEHAVIORS SUGGEST THEY WERE EVER SEPARATED LIKE THAT. IF ANYTHING, TOA WOULD ACTUALLY SACRIFICE ANYTHING IF IT MEANT HE COULD STAY WITH HIS SISTER. HE QUITE LITERALLY SAYS HE DOESN'T CARE IF HE CAN'T GO BACK TO THE POP'N WORLD AT THE END WHEN OFFERING TO STAY BEHIND BECAUSE HE CAN'T LEAVE HER. CHRIST!!!!!
Every bit of information that was in their history sections is wrong. They were never separated. Nia never says any of that fanfic-y bullshit (honestly I doubt she would ever say anything even remotely close to that). As far as we know, Toa never worked for Timer and Minit's (good headcanon material, but nothing is ever said in canon). It's all some bullshit some anon put on there in 2017.
This information has since been removed from the Fandom wiki as of 5/24/24, but when I tried removing it all the way back in 2022, it got reversed and their pages were locked. I'm a little salty about that still. But holy shit, I think this page did its job. It'll stay up as a monument to my care for these silly mages.
