JADEITE
The school's mysterious and somewhat reclusive principal. Past a door in his office, Jadeite conducts countless experiments involving lapises; corrupting them to purify them himself... even though he has seen no success, he's completely devoted to seeing them succeed. Even risking the lapises of the school's students in order to accomplish this...
In this game, he wields the black diamond lapis.
QuoN by Power of Nature is his song.
IN THE STORY
The story's midboss, Jadeite is the one responsible for corrupting lapises in the first half of the story as he searches for a way to purify them himself. Explaining all of this to the Tsugidoka crew (except Fuga, who was doing his own thing at this time), they conclude that he's full of shit and put an end to his machinations, with Black and Weiss apprehending him soon after. But as the second half of the story unfolds, he seems to lend some sort of aid to the crew as they work to stop the true mastermind...

TRIVIA
- Jadeite's birthday is on New Year's Day, January 1st.
- In his 2P palette, Jadeite wields the green diamond lapis.
- While no people appear in his animations, several lapises owned by other characters do. The Tsugidoka's lapises (red jewel, blue tear, green diamond and pink heart) appear in his Great, Win and Lose animations, and a green diamond (presumably his own?) appears in his Miss animation before turning black. His Great animation also shows off Taiga's yellow diamond, Nicolas' yellow tear, and Nia's purple tear. A white jewel can also briefly be seen in his FEVER animation. These lapis colors don't change in his 2P palette.
- Playing as or against Jadeite will yield teardrop effects in the background.
- Jadeite, as in the mineral he's named after, is the primary component of the most valuable jade stones. While it's typically light to medium green, the chloromelanite variety can be very dark green to black. This variety, though, is not purely jadeite.
- The name of his song is derived from 久遠 (kuon), a(nother) word for eternity in Japanese. What was the first one? Go over to Toa's page.
- Also regarding his song, the comments provided by PON show that he had a certain scene in mind; during the piano section at the end, he imagines Jadeite's lapis crumbling to shards after he's bested by the Tsugidoka, reliving his past memories as they figuratively fade away with the lapis. Nothing in the story proper suggests that it really broke, but it'd be interesting to imagine if it did... maybe.
- Jadeite, apparently, appeared on this card a whole month before he became unlockable. The code on the back of that card unlocked the story Demon and Piano which decidedly has nothing to do with Jadeite at all.
WEBMASTER'S COMMENTS
Playing through the game has made me realize something. Jadeite kinda really sucks as a person. Like, what the fuck. His song's a banger, though. PON sure can make some tunes!
I wish he went with the concept that would've made this guy half-dragon, though. :/
Also he can't write real cursive. (This is canon and in the storybook from the Konami Style run of the 2nd OST.)
